Is grinding essential when installing an epoxy floor? In short, the answer is yes. We always grind the existing concrete slab to create a mechanical bond between the concrete and the first layer of epoxy. Improperly prepared concrete will not create this bond and the coating will not last.

How long does an epoxy floor typically last? The longevity of epoxy flooring can depend on a number of factors, like the hazards it faces, where it's installed, and the quality of epoxy. Our epoxy solutions can last up to 20-25 years in a garage or basement, however, the epoxy may need a new clearcoat every 5-7 years to maintain it's aesthetic and performance.

How long does it take to install an epoxy floor? The average installation takes between 2 and 3 days to complete. Day #1: we ensure that the surface is prepared. This means grinding down the existing concrete slab with specialized diamond concrete grinders to remove the top layer of concrete and strip off any preexisting coatings. This creates a deep scratch that the epoxy can adhere to. Then, we apply a base coat which cures overnight. Day #2: we double check that the initial coat has properly cured, then complete the application by applying the top coat to the floor. This coat is clear in colour and will ensure the floor is properly sealed. In 24 hours, you can walk on the floor and we suggest waiting 48 hours before moving furniture or vehicles back in. *** Sometimes the length of installation can be extended due to temperature or humidity.

Can I buy the product, and you install it?"No. We use specialty, industrial grade products that are necessary for professional installations.
